Negaunee Downtown Enhancement - Streetscape
Welcome to Negaunee's Downtown Enhancement project (aka, Streetscape Project) landing page. We are sharing the site plans, sketches, and engineering drawings for public review. The complete project plans will be reviewed by the Planning Commission at their meeting on April 18 at 6:00pm, at the Negaunee Senior Center.
This project makes vital public investments into aged infrastructure and provides much needed improvements to our historic downtown. It will serve to improve the downtown character, be a catalyst for private investment, promote tax revenue growth, and serve to enrich quality of life for our residents.
The project will provide opportunities for economic growth and development to our downtown businesses and property owners. It will also serve as a catalyst to save our beautiful historic buildings and history by inspiring private investment.
Additionally, the overall design showcases our recreational assets and designates Negaunee as an outdoor recreation hub, inviting residents and tourists alike to “Forge Their Adventure!”
The project is a multi-faceted project that includes important infrastructure upgrades as well as enhancing strategically identified city-owned sites into public spaces.
