Bio: Elizabeth Gleason is a Junior art and orchestra student at Negaunee High School. In her free time, she enjoys camping, visiting museums, listening to, and playing, music, spending time with her cats, and creating art.
Insp: This piece features an indigenous woman surrounded by a beautiful landscape and sunflower crowning her head. I was mainly inspired by the amazing landscapes of Lake Superior for the background, as well as the beautiful sunsets that can almost always be seen painted in the sky. I wanted to paint this piece to show the beauty of our small world up here in the Upper Peninsula, as well as an appreciation for the many cultures that we all love.
