I designed this piece to celebrate the acts of service by our local first responders. The piece is designed after the local fire department uniform patch. My father is a medic and firefighter. He dedicated his life to service in the community. I feel as if all first responders and any people who live a life of service for their fellow humans should be celebrated.

I am 17 and grew up surrounded by those who serve their community and their country. My family has nurses, military personnel, and emergency responders. I have a great appreciation for all of them and consider all those who serve extended family.

I am a part of a large family with three dogs in Negaunee. I enjoy all forms of art. My favorite media lately is painting small canvas and doing art with sharpie markers or paint pens (or both!). I am currently on the path to enlist to serve in the Michigan Army National Guard (under the 'College First' contract) and hopefully (fingers crossed!) attend NMU for culinary arts/hospitality.
