Write-In Voting

To vote for a candidate whose name is not printed on the ballot, write or place the name of that candidate in the blank space provided and completely darken the corresponding oval.

If you choose to cast a vote for a write-in candidate, be sure to follow these rules to ensure your vote is valid:

• The candidate must have filed a Declaration of Intent Write-In Candidate form with the Negaunee City Clerk. Please call the City Clerk at 906-475-7700 ext 15 to obtain the name(s) of write-in candidates.
• Clearly print the name of the candidate you wish to vote for.
• Completely darken the oval next to the name of the candidate whose name you printed. Just writing the name is not enough.
• Do not use the write-in method for a candidate whose name is already pre-printed on the ballot.
