This special election has been called by the Marquette-Alger Regional Educational Service Agency (MARESA); the ballot will contain only the following proposal:

Shall the limitation on the annual property tax previously approved by the electors of Marquette-Alger Regional Educational Service Agency, Michigan, for the education of students with a disability be increased by 1.5 mills ($1.50 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) for a period of 20 years, 2023 to 2042, inclusive; the estimate of the revenue the intermediate school district will collect if the millage is approved and levied in 2023 is approximately $4,765,811 from local property taxes

MCL 168.720 Section 720: On the day of any election, the polls shall be opened at 7 o’clock in the forenoon, and shall be continuously open until 8 o’clock in the afternoon and no longer. Every qualified elector present and in line at the polls at the hour prescribed for the closing thereof shall be allowed to vote
