Upcoming event:

The Friends of the Negaunee Public Library will be having a small book sale on the library lawn from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, September 18. All sales are by donation.

Special project:

The Friends of the Negaunee Public Library are collecting recipes for a cookbook, which they will put together and sell as a fundraiser. Recipes of all varieties (all meals, snacks, special diets, etc.) are welcome. Please email your favorite recipes to npl [at] negauneepl [dot] org , drop it off at the library, or send it via the United States Postal Service to Negaunee Public Library, PO Box 548, Negaunee, MI, 49866. Please include a phone number in case the Friends have questions about the recipe.

Overview:

The Friends of the Negaunee Public Library is a non-profit, non-political organization whose purpose is to focus public attention on the library; to stimulate use of the library’s resources and services; and to support and cooperate with the library in developing services, facilities and programs for the community.

The main fundraiser is the annual used book sale, held every year during Pioneer Days.  There is also an annual Valentine’s Tea and book sale in February.

Over the years the Friends of the Negaunee Public Library have made several improvements and given many gifts to the library, including monitors and adjustable stands for the library’s computers, the colorful rug in the children's area, and a locked cabinet for Polk Directories and yearbooks. During the 2020 budget freeze, they purchased all books and CDs for the library so patrons could still enjoy the latest releases.

The Friends of the Negaunee Public Library invites anyone interested in the future of the Negaunee Public Library to join our organization and share ideas for improving the library. Residency is not a requirement.

Membership in this organization is $5 per year and is open to all persons interested in advancing the purposes of the library.  Dues may be paid to any board member.

Members
