Write-in forms available for elected positions

With the Negaunee City Clerk

 

Anyone wishing to be considered as a write-in candidate for the upcoming election on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 for any of the following offices must file a Declaration of Intent Write-In Candidate form.  Forms are available from the City Clerk at Negaunee City Hall or online at  Declaration of Intent form (PDF)

The openings are as follows:

 

  • Two (2) non-partisan vacancies on the City Council for a 3-year term.

           

  • Three (3) non-partisan vacancies on the Board of Review for a

3-year term.

 

  • One (1) non-partisan vacancy on the Board of Review for one unexpired term ending November 30, 2024.

 

To be eligible for the City Council or the Board of Review, a person must be a registered and qualified elector of the City of Negaunee.  Also, to be eligible for the Board of Review a person must be a property owner assessed for taxes of the City of Negaunee.

At this time, anyone wishing to run for any of the above offices can only run as a write-in candidate.  To be considered you must file a Declaration of Intent Write-In form with the City Clerk by 4:00 p.m. local time, Friday, October 27, 2023.  Please be sure to accurately complete the “Office Information” section of the Write-In Candidate Declaration of Intent with the Office Name and Term for which you are running.  The openings are listed above along with the term, whether it is a regular term or partial term.  As a write-in candidate you will be on for the duration of the term that you are running for.
