Vista Theater Project Webpage
The City of Negaunee is announcing the official launch of its informational webpage for the Vista Theater Rehabilitation Project. The page will host information on the efforts taken to rehabilitate the Vista so far. As well as the history of the Vista Theater, the project scope/construction plans/timeline, pictures of progress, funding needs, email list subscription, and fundraising efforts\programs. Additional updates will be provided as major milestones transpire.
Major milestones that have taken place since city ownership:
- Replacement of the theater roof
- Purchase of the theater and annex building
- Removal of debris of the theater and annex building
- Removal of pigeon infestation and associated debris
- Removal of panel façade
- Audio and visual consultation estimates
- State Historic Preservation Office and National Park Service review
- Historic preservation tax credit consultation
- Removal of the marquee
