Invitations for Bids - Bluff Street Water Line

Sealed bids will be received by the City of Negaunee at City Hall located at 319 W. Case
Street, Negaunee, Michigan, 49866 until 10:00am ET on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 for Bluff
Street Water. Bids will be received by the City of Negaunee and addressed to: Negaunee
City Clerk, City of Negaunee, P.O. Box 70, 319 W. Case Street, Negaunee, MI 49866.
Contractors please clearly mark “Bluff Street Water Line” on the outside envelope of sealed
bid. The Contractors Name and Address shall also be clearly marked on the outside
envelope. Bids must be Mailed or Hand-Delivered; email or fax bids will be not be accepted.

Work Location: Bluff Street, Negaunee, Michigan
Work Description:

•  The work will consist of removal of 330 feet of 1.5”-2” galvanized City of Negaunee water line and replacing with 330 feet of 2” Type K Copper Water line.
•  Depth of Bury must be a minimum of 6.5 feet to top of pipe (If this cannot be met due to rock, insulation must be used.)
•  Removal and replacement of 3 curb stop & boxes
•  New corporation stop on the 4” water line on Bluff Street.
•  Sawcut existing asphalt on Bluff Street and place gravel to finished grade. (Paving to be completed by others)
•  Removal of 15 feet x 6 feet of sidewalk. (New concrete to be completed by others)
•  Removal of all trees and brush 10 feet each side of new water line.
•  Work shall be completed by November 1st 2022.

The successful bidder will provide the City of Negaunee with proof of public liability ($500,000
minimum) and property damage ($500,0000 minimum) insurance to protect the City of Negaunee
and any property owners against any and all claims arising out of the performance of the
contracted services. The Bid Form is enclosed. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids,
or to accept any bid or part of a bid.

Contractors are encouraged to visit the project site and can call the DPW for questions
arising during bidding or for more information.
