INVITATION FOR BIDS
Sealed bids will be received by the City of Negaunee Public Works Department at City Hall located at 319 W. Case Street, Negaunee, Michigan, 49866 until 11:00am ET on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 for 2023 Cemetery Tree Removal. Bids will be received by the City of Negaunee and addressed to: Negaunee City Clerk, City of Negaunee, P.O. Box 70, 319 W. Case Street, Negaunee, MI 49866. Contractors please clearly mark “2023 Cemetery Tree Removal” on the outside envelope of sealed bid. The Contractors Name and Address shall also be clearly marked on the outside envelope. Bids must be Mailed or Hand-Delivered; email or fax bids will be not be accepted.
The Bid Form is enclosed.
The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to accept any bid or part of a bid.

2023 Cemetery Tree Removal
This project includes cutting/removing and disposing/hauling away of 6 white pine trees located within the lots at the Negaunee Cemetery. Bidders are strongly encouraged to visit the site to familiarize themselves with the project.
Interested bidders can visit the Cemetery to take note of the marked/flagged trees. The DPW Director will mark the trees to be removed and be available to help answer questions.

Description of Work
The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to completely cut and remove and dispose of six identified trees within the Cemetery. After removal operation, the stump shall be no more than 12 inches above the ground.
The contractor shall utilize means and methods to not damage any headstones, monuments, etc. The contractor shall properly protect and prohibit all traffic and access to the work sites.
The Cemetery Tree Removal completion date is September 30, 2023. Enclosed is the Bid Form for the City of Negaunee. No work can take place prior June 1, 2023.
The tree removal price shall include all costs necessary to complete the protection, cutting, removal, and disposal of trees.
All disturbed areas shall be repaired by the contractor at no extra cost.
The successful bidder will provide the City of Negaunee with proof of public liability ($500,000 minimum) and property damage ($500,0000 minimum) insurance to protect the City of Negaunee and any property owners against any and all claims arising out of the performance of the contracted services.
Note: Additional Option - The stump removal price is an additional option to completely remove or grind/chip the stump to a minimum depth of 12”, place sand backfill, and topsoil/restoration.
