Food Truck Program Approved
The City of Negaunee is announcing the official launch of its Food Truck Program, which was approved by City Council at their June meeting.
The program is designed to provide guidance to staff and vendors. This guidance includes:
- Areas and hours of operation
- Unit size and other site regulations
- Fees
- Other operational regulations
Staff will work to provide updates to Council to determine if any changes are needed. “This year is trial, we want to see what happens and how much interest is generated under this program. We have been getting requests for the past few years”, City Manager Nate Heffron said.
According to Heffron, this program is designed for those looking to operate on city streets or on city properties. The program is not for Downtown Development Authority sponsored events such as Fall Fest or Heiki Lunta. Special events that require their own permits, like Pioneer Days, are also excluded from this program. Vendors are encouraged to reach out to these organizations should they want to be part of their festivities.
Those interested in learning more about this program and how to obtain a permit can visit here.
