Community Contributions Grants (WPPI)

Negaunee City Hall on a sunny day

The City of Negaunee is pleased to announce this year’s Community Contributions Grant awardees. Earlier this spring, the city accepted applications of qualified organizations. Organizations must be non-profit and within the city limits of Negaunee, funds must be expended to help the overall organization or public at-large (cannot be for an individual), and could not have received this grant the year prior.

In total, $37,611.00 have been given through this program since 2009.

This year the City Council set aside $1500 in grant funding. Funds are made possible through community relations funding from WPPI Energy, the not-for-profit wholesale power provider and joint action agency of which Negaunee is a member-owner. This year’s Community Contributions Grants are awarded to the Iron Range Hockey Association ($750, Learn to Skate Program) and the Iron Town Dog Park ($750, tool purchases).
