Community Contributions Grant

The City of Negaunee is pleased to announce the recipients of the Negaunee Community Contributions Grants 2021; Negaunee Historical Society, ($750), which will be using their funds to upgrade and improve restroom facilities at the museum and the Negaunee Irontown Association, ($750), which will use their funds to support Pioneer Day activities and programs.

The donation was made possible through community relations funding from WPPI Energy, the not-for-profit wholesale power provider and joint action agency of which Negaunee is a member-owner. “WPPI knows how important it is to be good stewards of the community, we are happy to be part of the great things happening in Negaunee”, Brett Niemi, Senior Energy Services Representative of WPPI said.

In total, $23,117.00 have been given through this program since 2006. “This is a great way to give back to our local non-profits. Negaunee is blessed to have a variety of organizations that help to improve our quality of life everyday”, Heffron said.
