NOTICE – Croix Street Construction
Croix Street Residents –
The City of Negaunee is in the process of finalizing the work plans for the 2018 construction season. The Croix Street project was awarded on June 11th by MDOT to Hebert Construction. The City would like to make you aware of this upcoming work so you can plan accordingly. At this time the work is expected to begin at the Baldwin/Croix Street intersection with signage being posted on June 18th and digging to begin on June 25th. Phase one of the construction will be the Baldwin intersection and working westerly on the 400 block of Croix, the work is anticipated to last approximately 5 weeks and Baldwin will be open to traffic, Phase two will be the east end of Croix from Baldwin to US-41 which is scheduled for completion on September 22nd.
The work will consist of replacing Curb and gutter, Catch Basins, Water stacks, Hydrants, sidewalks, Street lighting, and road surface replacement.
As with most construction work in residential areas, this project will cause you some inconveniences. Most likely there will be dust issues and loud construction activities taking place. Access to your property may be affected as will on-street parking. The City will work with the contractor to keep these inconveniences to a minimum. Prior to the start of work the City will hold a neighborhood meeting on Tuesday June 19th at 7 p.m. at Ronn Hall , 1206 Baldwin Ave. to inform every one of the details involved with the work. Also, during construction we will hold regular progress meeting to allow residents to give input and to keep everyone informed of the construction schedules.
