Negaunee, MI — The Negaunee Eagle’s Club recently completed an energy efficient lighting project that will reduce energy usage in addition to saving operation and maintenance costs for the facility.

The Eagle’s Club collaborated with the Negaunee Electric Department and power supplier WPPI Energy to conserve energy by updating and replacing outdated lighting fixtures. The facility swapped outdated fluorescent lights with new LED’s; the new lights will result in a significant energy savings.

Negaunee Electric Department presented the Eagle’s Club with a check for $481 on June 4, 2019 at Eagle Club on Iron Street to help offset costs.

“When our customers take steps to conserve, they not only save on energy costs, but they also help lessen demands on the local electric system,” remarked Nate Heffron, City Manager of Negaunee. “Energy conservation is the most practical and effective way that we can help protect the environment and keep customers’ electric bills down for the long term.”
