CLOSED – Advertisement for bids – Birch Street Watermain

Sealed bids are solicited for the: Construction of BIRCH STREET WATERMAIN, City of Negaunee, Marquette County, Michigan. The project includes approximately 0.10 miles watermain replacement and road reconstruction on Birch Street from Hungerford Ave to Baldwin Ave. The project will include removal of 4” watermain, placing new 8” watermain, partial reconstruction, sidewalk and ADA ramp replacement, curb replacement, subbase, gravel base, curb, HMA paving, permanent pavement markings, slope restoration, and traffic control.

Bids will be received by the City of Negaunee and addressed to: Negaunee City Clerk, City of Negaunee, P.O. Box 70, 319 W. Case Street, Negaunee, MI 49866, until 1:00 p.m. ET,May 24, 2018, at which time these sealed Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the City of Negaunee Office. Contractors please clearly mark “BID ENCLOSED: Birch Street Watermain” on the outside envelope of sealed bid.

The Contract Documents may be examined at the office of U.P. Engineers & Architects, Inc. at 424 South Pine Street, Ishpeming, Michigan 49849. Direct any questions to Mark Daavettila at the UPEA Ishpeming office. All bidders shall contact U.P. Engineers & Architects, Inc. to be added to the Bidders List for pending addenda and supplemental information if necessary.
Hard copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained from the Ishpeming office of U.P. Engineers & Architects, Inc., 424 South Pine Street, Ishpeming, MI 49849, (906) 485-1011, it will be $25 for each copy.

No Bid shall be received unless accompanied by a certified check or satisfactory Bid Bond payable to the Owner in an amount no less than five percent (5%) of the maximum bid as a guarantee, that if the Bid is accepted, the Bidder will execute and file the Contract, Performance and Payment Bonds, and Insurance Certification, as required by the Contract Documents within fifteen (15) days after the Notice of Award and may not be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after bid deadline.

The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids.
