Subject: Brown Ave Sewer Project

Dear Negaunee Resident / Business Owner;

A contract has been awarded to Smith Construction, Inc. to perform construction on Brown Ave from Main St to Cherry/Mitchell. Work will consist of sanitary sewer replacement and restoring the road to a gravel surface.  (The road will be paved later with a separate MDOT funded project)

The tentative schedule/staging is provided below:

May 28, 2019 to June 6, 2019      Main Street to Case St    Sewer replacement and roadbase

June 6, 2019 to July 16, 2019       Case St to Clark St            Sewer replacement and roadbase                            July 16, 2019 to Aug 6, 2019 Clark St to Cherry St        Sewer replacement, curb/roadwork

September/October 2019             Paved with separate MDOT funded project

The contractor will make every effort to maintain access to your residence.  During construction operations, the staged areas will be closed, utilize alternate routes/access/parking locations to your residence, if possible.  Please be patient and allot time in your schedule to anticipate delays.

Upon completion of the sanitary sewer replacement project, the road will be a gravel surface for an extended period of time (1-2 months).  The road will then be paved utilizing a separate MDOT small urban funding source.
