Attention Residents of Hungerford Ave., Prince St., and Ann St. regarding 2026 Street and Sewer Project
Smith Construction, Inc. will be rehabilitating sections of Hungerford Ave., Prince St., and Ann St. in Negaunee, MI, and installing new storm sewer utilities. We apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause you. If at any time you need assistance carrying items to and from your home while we are working on your block, our workers will be available to assist you.
The road rehabilitation and underground utility installation on Hungerford Ave., Prince St., and Ann St. is set to begin June 8th, 2026 and continue through the substantial completion date of August 21st, 2026.
Smith Construction, Inc. will have working hours of 7:00am to 7:00pm, Monday through Saturday. During this timeframe homeowners can expect noise and vibrations from construction equipment. Examples of this equipment may include but are not limited to Wheel Loaders, Excavators, Backhoes, and Skid-Steers. Please also expect utility disruptions from the work being completed. Homeowners will receive notification of utility disruptions 24 hours in advance, unless disruptions occur unexpectedly or in the event of an emergency. In the
case of emergency work Smith Construction, Inc. will notify residents and homeowners immediately by verbal notification.
Please have your garbage and recycling in marked containers placed at the end of your driveway. Have garbage and recycling in the appropriate bags and containers by 5:00pm on your normal scheduled evening. Smith Construction, Inc. will move these containers to an area that is accessible by the garbage truck for pickup.
We recognize that parking will be limited while we are working on this project. Smith Construction, Inc. will make the best effort to keep driveways accessible throughout this project. Residents may park on adjacent side streets if access to driveways is unavailable.
Pedestrian traffic will be maintained throughout this project. Any hazardous areas will be appropriately marked and have all appropriate caution in place.
